  • Outstanding career opportunity
  • Progressive and stable Council
  • Exceptional work/lifestyle balance

Situated in and around the southern tip of the Eyre Peninsula and incorporating 709 kilometres of magnificent coastline and national parks, the Lower Eyre Council is a "hidden gem" known for its diversity across commercial, agricultural, aquaculture and tourism industries. The Council boasts two major townships - Cummins and Coffin Bay, with several smaller settlements across the region. Their significant commercial interests also include the Port Lincoln Airport. With a population of approximately 5,900 residents, the region boasts an unprecedented community spirit, access to all major amenities and a safe and secure lifestyle.

A rare opportunity has presented itself within this tightly held Council to appoint a suitably qualified executive and experienced leader to work in close collaboration with the Mayor, Elected Members and Council Staff to:

  • Finalise and deliver on the strategic plan
  • Effectively manage all Council operations
  • Provide sound financial management
  • Meet all the statutory and regulatory requirements of Council
  • Deliver an inclusive high-performance workplace culture
  • Manage the seasonal influx of visitors to the region
  • Work in collaboration with the Port Lincoln Airport Management Authority and inaugural Airport CEO to deliver key objectives
  • Oversee the:
    • Coffin Bay master plan
    • Major land developments
    • Town centre redevelopment
    • Waste management strategy

Ideally, we are seeking an inspirational leader and manager with a sound strategic and commercial mindset that can build on the legacy of the outgoing CEO. Being outcome driven, you will need to own decisions and support your team whilst demonstrating high levels of emotional intelligence. Overseeing a number of commercial interests, you will require strong accounting/finance experience. Whilst an understanding of Local Government will be well received, you will be expected to have a background of working within a highly regulated and complex environment. Being a role that interacts across a wide range of stakeholder groups, you will require exceptional communication skills and be one who can build trust and respect within the community.

This is an outstanding and rare opportunity to join a united, progressive and vibrant Council and community in an idyllic location.
