This opportunity exists for a person with a passion and commitment to regulatory services and compliance to join our team. Council is seeking people who enjoy working around animals and have a genuine interest in making a difference in our community.

The successful applicant will complete the two-person Regulatory Officer team to enable responsive services as well as a good work life balance in this dynamic environment. Officers will have a balance between working in the field and completing administrative functions and can expect overtime and weekend work when on the on-call roster.

This position offers a huge variety including activities at the Coonamble Saleyards, Common and Aerodrome as well as animal rehousing and control, water sampling, community safety plans, issue orders and notices, field inspections, stray animals, overgrown premises and derelict vehicles.

Ideally the successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in animal control, enforcing compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, while providing information and guidance on all regulatory matters to the public. Qualifications in regulatory services would be preferred but would be suitable for those with extensive practical experience and the ability to work on-call hours as required.

The successful candidate will have access to a commuter use vehicle, educational assistance and Council’s health and wellbeing program. The position will also include membership of the Australian Institute of Local Government Rangers as well as attendance that their annual conference.

Applicants must have a current Driver’s Licence, WHS White Card and have the ability to pass background and criminal checks.
