The role:
Council is seeking a motivated and community-minded Compliance Officer to join our Planning, Building & Regulatory Services team. As our Compliance Officer, you’ll play an important role in helping keep our community safe, informed and supported. You’ll investigate compliance matters, administer Council’s regulatory functions, and help ensure relevant Acts and Regulations are applied fairly and effectively.
You’ll also oversee the daily operations of our animal management facility, supporting the welfare, safety and rehoming of companion animals, making this a rewarding role for someone who genuinely loves working with animals and people alike.

What we need from you:
We are looking for someone with experience in a similar role with well-developed communication and customer service skills. You will ideally hold a Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or related field, have proven experience in a similar role and will be committed to providing a high quality of service.
A demonstrated understanding of regulatory frameworks, in particular the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of associated policies, regulations and guidelines related to regulatory enforcement and compliance is essential.
The successful candidates will have a penchant for animals, excellent customer service skills and be able to act professionally when undertaking all aspects of the role and will have the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of people from all aspects of our community.
