The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Recreation and Youth Department as the Recreation Projects Officer. We are looking for someone who has well established project management and communication skills, is hard working and thrives in a busy environment.
- The position reports to the Recreation Development Coordinator.
- Stakeholders include community groups, contractors, funding bodies and residents.
- The position will plan, support and deliver recreation and leisure-based capital projects for the Melton community.
Key Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing input into the development of the capital program for recreation and leisure and ensuring that projects are ready for delivery. The position directly manages small to medium scale capital projects and is responsible for providing support to deliver larger capital projects in accordance with Council’s Project Management Framework.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Qualifications in building, project management and/or experience in managing recreation related projects and contracts.
- Experience in both project management and working closely with community sport and recreation clubs.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
