The Role:
The new CEO will provide strategic leadership and direction to the Council, ensuring that the organisation continues to meet the needs of the communities of the region while navigating the Central Highlands’ unique challenges.
The CEO leads all aspects of Council operations, including financial management, strategic planning and community engagement and is pivotal in fostering a positive organisational culture, driving operational excellence and advocating for the interests of the Central Highlands at State and Federal levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans that align with the Council’s goals and community needs.
- Oversee the financial health of the Council, including budgeting, financial planning and risk management.
- Foster strong relationships with residents, stakeholders and local organisations, ensuring transparent communication and building community trust.
- Build and maintain a high-performing Executive Leadership Team, find organisational efficiencies and enhancing team capabilities.
The Person:
The Council are prepared to invest to secure a seasoned leader with extensive experience as a CEO in local government. A strong track record in financial management, governance and team development is essential, and the Council will welcome a CEO who is a confident communicator, adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders and advocating for the organisation’s interests.
