About the Council
Located just 42 kilometres north of Adelaide, the Town of Gawler is a township on the rise with a community that values its lifestyle, history, and natural wonders. Growing at a rate of nearly 2% per annum, many families and newly retired people are choosing to settle in the town. Gawler is a vibrant community on the move.

About the Role
As the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in steering the Town of Gawler towards a prosperous and sustainable future. You will be responsible for implementing Council strategies, managing various functions and activities, overseeing finances, assets, human resources, communications, and major projects. This role requires a deep commitment to the social and economic agenda of the Town of Gawler, and a passion for community engagement. We are looking for a leader who can navigate the complexities of diverse interests and manage expectations while steering the Town of Gawler through working collaboratively with the Mayor and Elected Members and fostering effective communication and working relationships between Councillors and the administration.

About You
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced, empathetic, and progressive leader. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record as an Executive who will promote adaptability, creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. You will be a collaborator with a high level of emotional intelligence and a commitment to excellence. You will encourage holistic and robust decision-making encouraging a culture of transparency and a commitment to outstanding customer service. Evaluate actions and outputs considering their impact on other areas within the organization and the broader community.
You could have developed your experience with the public, private or not-for profit sectors in an organisation that delivers a diverse range of services to a community. You will have experience in building strong and respectful relationships within a community and key business and government stakeholders. You will understand how to work in collaboration with Elected Members to ensure the expectations and needs of the community are understood and delivered on. Lastly, you will see self-awareness and feedback as an essential element for continuous improvement.
In return for your commitment, Council is offering the successful candidate an attractive salary package and a 5-year contract.
