The Organisation:
Moira Shire is strategically positioned on Australia’s iconic Murray River two and a half hours north of Melbourne and close to major regional centres.

Moira is centrally located to the regional cities of Shepparton, Wangaratta, and Albury-Wodonga. Moira Shire includes four major towns: Cobram, Nathalia, Numurkah, and Yarrawonga and 22 smaller communities. Each major town has a unique combination of economic and liveability advantages.

The Shire’s population is projected to reach over 32,000 by 2031. Growing the local economy through tourism, food processing, retail trade, health and education and diversification of agriculture is attracting families to the area.

The Opportunity:
Moira Shire has been through a period of change which has seen the appointment of a Panel of Administrators until 2028. This is a unique opportunity to lead and support our team of enthusiastic and energetic staff with a passion for delivering on behalf of the Moira community. It will be your role to steer and nurture the team in line with our community’s ambition and expectations.

This role provides an opportunity for the incoming CEO to define their career as they strategically position the organisation and the Moira community for the future.

The Person:
You will be an experienced senior executive with an understanding of local government, rural and regional communities and what it takes to build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders at all levels. You will be an entrepreneurial individual and progressive thinker who will both initiate business enhancement opportunities with an ability to lead and embrace change. Your track record of respecting and working in partnership with community will be critical to your success in this position.
You will bring a broad range of leadership skills and experiences that position you to lead and support staff in an authentic, contemporary and balanced way that encourages individuals and allows them to shine.
