The Mayor and Council of the Murweh Shire are seeking a new CEO.
The CEO is the council’s chief staff officer and leads the strategy, planning and delivery activities of the organisation. The CEO is also the Mayor and Council’s primary expert in the business of local government and has the lead advisory role with this group.
Key Result Areas include:
Organisational Performance
The new CEO will inherit a financially stable and conservatively run council organisation and an experienced and progressive Mayor and Council. The Mayor will ask the CEO to explore opportunities to deliver performance and culture change in the organisation while maintaining high standards of service, efficiency and sustainability.
Planning and Delivery
The council has recently developed its 5-year plan including substantial engagement with its communities and the new CEO will have a leading role in implementing the strategic plan and translating the council’s vision and community’s goals into well-delivered outcomes through an integrated planning framework.
Major Projects
The council is well organised in its grant attraction program, and this has enabled investment in the infrastructure to support growth and development of key economic sectors, including its tourism infrastructure.
The council has been very successful in attracting grants, with over $10M in projects in tourism infrastructure, internet connectivity and water and sewerage upgrades to be delivered
The Murweh Shire
Located in southwest Queensland, the Murweh Shire Council serves over 5000 people residing across the Shire primarily in the towns of Charleville, Augathella, Morven, and Cooladdi.
Charleville is the major commercial and tourism hub for the Shire forming part of a thriving region, with excellent schools, shopping and facilities that support the main industries of grazing, agriculture, and tourism.
