Chief Executive Officer

The City of West Torrens is seeking to appoint its next Chief Executive Officer, as a result of the retirement of the incumbent. This is a position which is keenly sought after but seldom comes to market.

The Council is searching for a person to lead and manage the organisation in an inclusive, community focused manner. Working collaboratively with the Elected Members, the ideal candidate will be an experienced senior leader who values individual differences, experiences and perspectives within the organisation with a focus on achieving outstanding outcomes. They will ensure robust financial and asset management, balanced with a social and inclusive approach to working with the Council, ratepayers and the broader community.

To be successful, you will have significant senior leadership experience in a large, complex and diverse workplace. You will demonstrate the Mission, Vision and Values of the Council and embody the City’s motto of “Progress Tempered by Wisdom” and have a passion for the West Torrens community. Your customer service and resident centric style will be supported by your innovative and encouraging approach to achieving service excellence.

In addition to your outstanding leadership skills, you will be responsive to consumer and community needs. To have the desired impact in this role you will need to have, or quickly grasp, a strong understanding of the Local Government operating environment, context and legislation.
