- Partner with Council to deliver long-term community value
- Drive organisational performance and culture
Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) is seeking a visionary and commercially astute Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through a critical period of transformation and growth.
Representing seven member councils and servicing more than 800,000 residents across Perth's northern metropolitan region, MRC plays a vital role in delivering essential waste management services and shaping the future of sustainable resource recovery. As the Tamala Park landfill approaches the end of lifecycle, MRC is actively evaluating a comprehensive range of future strategies. Our focus is on assessing all viable pathways to best serve all members.
Reporting to the Chair and Elected Members, the Chief Executive Officer is accountable for the management of all aspects of the Council's municipal activity in accordance with the relevant Acts, Local Laws, Regulations and Policies. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the delivery and evolution of the Strategic Community Plan
- Drive organisational transformation
- Provide high-quality advice and support to Council in a complex governance environment
- Oversee financial sustainability, infrastructure planning and commercial opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with member councils, government, industry and stakeholders
- Ensure effective service delivery, operational performance and continuous improvement
- Foster a high-performing, values-driven organisational culture
- Ensure robust risk management, compliance and safety frameworks
Ideally, we are seeking an accomplished executive leader with experience operating in complex, politically sensitive environments. You bring strong commercial and financial acumen, a proven ability to lead organisational transformation, and confidence in providing strategic advice to a governing body. You are skilled in building trusted relationships across government, industry and community, and have a track record of delivering high-performing service outcomes. Experience within waste management, resource recovery, infrastructure or a comparable sector is highly regarded, along with a sound understanding of the Western Australian waste landscape, sustainability and circular economy principles.
This is very rare opportunity to join a high performing and established Council with a dedicated, stable and committed team.
Being a Band 3 Council, a total salary package (inclusive of benefits and superannuation) of between $182,109 and $300,370 will be negotiated with the successful candidate. This is in line with the SAT Band 3 Determination.
