The Inverell Shire Council invites applications from experienced local government leaders to serve as their next General Manager.

We are seeking a visionary local government leader who has a track record in delivering long-term organisational performance, delivery of essential community services and projects, impactful stakeholder engagement and possesses the essential personal attributes to work effectively with the Elected Member group, the Council organisation and the communities of the Inverell Shire.

Leadership: We seek a General Manager who has well developed strategic capabilities and is highly experienced in developing and executing long-term plans. Your visionary leadership will inspire innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement and will empower the Council’s team.

Organisational Performance: Organisational performance focus is paramount, and the GM will lead business planning, data-driven decision-making and efficiency initiatives ensuring service excellence, sustainability, core business focus and organisational preparedness.

Project Management: Oversee critical projects that impact the Inverell community directly. Your project management expertise will ensure successful, on-time and within-budget delivery of key initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build robust relationships with the Council’s stakeholders, serving as a bridge between the Council and its partners, agencies and the community. Effective communication and negotiation skills that uphold transparency and trust and deliver outcomes for the community are essential.
