Facilities Access Control Officer

About this opportunity:

As the Facilities Access Control Officer, you will be responsible for the administration and oversight of access control systems across Council's facilities portfolio. This permanent full-time role supports the secure management of keys, access cards and electronic permissions while maintaining accurate records, responding to access-related incidents, and contributing to the protection of Council assets and facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the issue, tracking and management of security keys, access cards and electronic access permissions.
• Processing access requests and maintaining accurate, audit-ready records.
• Monitoring access control systems and supporting the security of Council buildings and facilities.
• Investigating access-related issues, alarm activations and security incidents, and coordinating appropriate responses.
• Liaising with contractors, service providers and internal stakeholders to resolve access and security system matters.
• Analysing system performance and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, security and operational efficiency.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Experience in facilities operations, access control, security systems administration or a similar operational environment.
• Knowledge of access control systems and related technologies such as CCTV, alarm monitoring systems or Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Strong administration skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage competing priorities.
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to operational issues.
• Qualifications in Business Administration, Facilities Management or a related field (Certificate III preferred), or equivalent relevant experience.
• Current QLD C Class Driver Licence or equivalent.
