THE OPPORTUNITY
The Shire of Victoria Plains is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join its Executive Leadership Team as Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, The Deputy Chief Executive Officer will play a significant role in the planning and delivery of major and strategic economic development projects that are currently underway. You will be instrumental within the Executive team and council in providing strategic and operational leadership to enable quality outcomes to shape the way the Shire delivers its services through innovative solutions and better practice implementation to serve the needs of an evolving and growing community.
ABOUT YOU
You are an authentic and strategic leader who combines strong financial and commercial acumen with a collaborative leadership style. You enjoy working in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer, Council and Executive Leadership Team to deliver sound governance, responsible financial management and sustainable organisational outcomes. You are passionate about continuous improvement, project management, lead with integrity and have the ability to influence, inspire and build high-performing teams.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role within Finance, Administration corporate services, local government or a similarly complex organisation.
- Qualifications in Leadership and/or management discipline
- Sound understanding of the Local Government industry, regulations, risk management and compliance
- Strong financial management, strategic planning and governance capability, with experience leading organisational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Highly developed public relations, interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at both strategic and operational levels.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing significant budgets and delivering high-quality corporate services.
REMUNERATION
The Shire of Victoria Plains offers an attractive executive employment package up to the value of $199,341.20. This includes
- Competitive executive salary: Cash component of $138,320 per annum
- Employer Superannuation: 12%
- Council matching Superannuation contribution of 6.5%
