THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a rare opportunity to join the Executive Leadership Team as the Executive Manager Community Services. Be part of one of Western Australia's most historic regional local governments and lead a diverse portfolio that has a direct impact on community wellbeing, recreation, tourism, heritage and community development.
Working collaboratively with Council, the Executive Team, community groups and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping services that respond to the evolving needs of the community while supporting the Shire's Strategic Community Plan and long-term vision. The position also provides leadership across budgeting, strategic planning, policy development, grant funding opportunities and the management of high-performing teams.
ABOUT YOU
You are an authentic and collaborative leader who enjoys working closely with people and building strong relationships across both the organisation and the wider community.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership role within community services, local government or a related sector.
- Strong strategic planning, governance and organisational leadership capability.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets and service delivery.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a passion for creating positive community outcomes.
Experience within Local Government will be highly regarded but is not essential for candidates with transferable executive leadership experience.
REMUNERATION
The Shire of Coolgardie offers an attractive executive employment package including:
- Competitive executive salary: Cash component of $157,500 per annum
- Employer Superannuation: 12%
- Accommodation Subsidy: $22,500 per annum
- Vehicle Allowance: $20,000 per annum (or the applicable Shire rate)
- Utilities Allowance: $5,000 per annum (or the applicable Shire rate)
- Relocation assistance (where applicable)
