Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking an experienced finance leader to join the Corporate Support Services Directorate as Manager Financial Systems and Services.

Reporting to the Director Corporate Support Services and Chief Financial Officer, this role leads Council's Financial Systems and Services portfolio, providing strategic financial advice that supports sound decision making, strong governance and long term financial sustainability. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Mayor and Councillors, you will play an important role in shaping Council's financial direction while supporting the delivery of services and infrastructure for the community.

The portfolio encompasses financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, rates and revenue, asset accounting, treasury, financial systems and continuous improvement. An important focus of the role will be strengthening financial planning, refining budget processes and continuing to build strong business partnerships across the organisation.

This opportunity will suit an experienced manager who combines strong technical capability with a collaborative leadership style. You will be comfortable working across a broad stakeholder environment, providing practical advice, building trusted relationships and supporting informed decision making.
