  • Permanent Full-Time Career Opportunity – 35 hours per week
  • Attractive salary ranging from $1,770.30 - $2,138.90 per week.

Job Description

The Opportunity

Lead Council's Customer Service and Corporate Records functions, driving service excellence, continuous improvement and customer-focused outcomes across the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated team, enhance customer experiences, strengthen information governance, and partner with leaders to deliver efficient, customer-focused services that support organisational success.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and support Council's Customer Service and Corporate Records teams, providing coaching, guidance and leadership to deliver responsive, high-quality and compliant services.
  • Develop and continuously improve customer service standards, systems, policies and processes that enhance the customer experience and organisational performance.
  • Manage complex customer enquiries, requests and complaints, acting as the primary escalation point for sensitive matters while ensuring positive customer outcomes.
  • Oversee Council's Corporate Records Management System, ensuring effective information management and compliance with legislative and governance requirements.
  • Partner with leaders across Council to improve customer service delivery, streamline business processes and implement service improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures and guidance relating to customer service, customer request management, records management and information governance.
  • Build organisational capability by providing training, coaching and advice on customer service, records management and corporate business systems.
  • Analyse service performance, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to organisational change and strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and governance requirements.

With strong judgement, a solutions-focused mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, you confidently lead people, navigate complex situations and foster a culture of service excellence.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Public Administration, Records and Information Management, Customer Service, Leadership or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading customer service, records management or administrative functions, with the ability to develop teams, improve service delivery and implement customer-focused systems and processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, manage complex customer enquiries and complaints, and influence positive outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with legislative, governance and information management requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in corporate business systems and Microsoft 365, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies, prepare high-quality reports and support ongoing business improvement initiatives.
