About this Position:

The Capital Works Project Officer will play a key role in delivering projects across Council's Water, Waste and Open Spaces Directorate. This position supports the planning, coordination and efficient use of resources for the rehabilitation, construction and maintenance of stormwater, water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered safely, effectively and to a high standard.

What we trust you to deliver:

• Project Coordination and Delivery: Assist in the delivery of stormwater, water and wastewater capital works projects by supporting project planning, scheduling, procurement and construction activities to ensure successful outcomes are achieved within approved budgets and timeframes. Contribute throughout the project lifecycle, including construction coordination, asset acceptance, documentation management and defects resolution, to support the effective handover and long-term performance of infrastructure assets.
• Technical and Operational Support: Provide technical support for stormwater, water and wastewater infrastructure projects by contributing operational, maintenance and constructability expertise throughout project planning and design. Collect, analyse and maintain project and asset information to support informed decision-making and ensure accurate asset records are captured and updated to meet organisational and asset management requirements.
• Stakeholder and Customer Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with contractors, consultants, service authorities, community members and internal stakeholders, providing a high standard of customer service and clear communication to support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects and achieve positive outcomes for all stakeholders.
• Contract and Project Administration: Provide project and contract administration support by coordinating tender and quotation processes, monitoring project progress, and maintaining accurate project, corporate and asset records to ensure compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
• Site Supervision, Compliance and Safety: Monitor construction activities and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements and industry standards, while identifying and addressing project risks, issues and non-compliances to support the safe and successful delivery of capital works projects.

What you will need to be successful:

• Diploma qualification in Civil Construction, Civil Engineering, project Management, Asset Management, Construction Management or a related discipline; or demonstrated equivalent experience in capital works delivery, construction, or infrastructure maintenance.
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Current NSW Class C Driver Licence

Desirable

• Traffic Management qualification enabling the preparation of Traffic Management Plans (TMP's).
• Experience using asset management, GIS, project management, and corporate business systems.
• Current First Aid certificate
• Confined Space Entry and/or Working at Heights accreditation.

Full Time: 70 hours per fortnight

Salary: $1,778.50 to $2,045.28 per week plus superannuation

Conditions of Employment: Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.
