Assistant Director Childcare

Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to join the team at Curry Kids Early Learning Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified early childhood professional who is passionate about high-quality education and care and about developing their leadership capability within a supportive service.

• Full Time- Annual salary- $100,000 to $110,000 per annum (Depending on Qualifications and Experience) + Superannuation

About The Role:

Reporting to the Director Curry Kids Early Learning Centre, the Assistant Director Childcare supports the Director in the overall leadership and operational management of the Centre. Working closely with the Director, you will coach and mentor a team of educators in their work with children and families, build team capability, and develop your business administration skills to contribute proactively to the Centre's performance across all targets. This role is responsible for day-to-day operations, governance and compliance, educational leadership, and programming support, while upholding the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations, the National Quality Framework and National Quality Standard, and the Service's philosophy, goals, policies and procedures. You will also assume responsibility for the overall management of the Centre in the Director's absence.About You: We are seeking a motivated and proactive early childhood professional who can lead by example, build strong relationships with children, families and educators, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. You will demonstrate:

• Substantial experience as a Senior Educator or in a similar role, with excellent knowledge of current early childhood best practice
• Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Framework and the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
• Proven ability to provide educational leadership through coaching, mentoring and modelling best practice, and to support educators to observe, assess and document children's learning
• Demonstrated commitment to child safe practices in accordance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, mandatory reporting obligations and child protection requirements
• Experience contributing to a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and conducting audits of educational programs, documentation, learning environments and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated ability to manage incidents, complaints, hazards, risks and child protection matters, including documentation, escalation and corrective actions
• Experience in key management tasks including rostering, family accounts, wait-list management, enrolments and purchasing
• Excellent knowledge of child health and safety, including safe environments, nutritional requirements, infectious diseases and infection control
• Ability to cope effectively in emergency or stressful situations, with exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
• Significant experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills
• Self-motivated, able to take ownership of the role and complete tasks and projects with minimal assistance
  

Mandatory Requirements:

• Blue Card for child-related employment, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement
• Current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one
• Current unrestricted C Class Driver Licence
• Current First Aid Qualification in accordance with ACECQA guidelines
• Diploma-level Early Childhood qualification (Minimum Qualification)

Desirable:

• Bachelor of Early Childhood
• Experience managing teams (desirable)
