Fraser Coast Regional Council / McArthur

Investment Attraction Officer

Fraser Coast Regional Council / McArthur
Queensland, Australia Full Time

  • Shape investment and economic growth outcomes across the Fraser Coast
  • Senior investment facilitation role, direct exposure to investors and developers
  • Coastal lifestyle, affordable living and a region experiencing real momentum

Imagine building your career while living minutes from pristine beaches, World Heritage-listed K'gari, vibrant coastal communities and some of Queensland's most attractive lifestyle destinations.

The Fraser Coast offers a rare combination of professional opportunity and lifestyle. Home to Hervey Bay, Maryborough and the Great Sandy Strait, the region is experiencing significant investment interest, population growth and economic transformation. Families are increasingly discovering the region's affordability, quality schools, outdoor lifestyle and strong community connections, while professionals are attracted by the opportunity to make a visible impact and gain broader experience than is often possible in larger metropolitan organisations.

Fraser Coast Regional Council has established a new Economic Development and Advocacy Directorate to drive the region's growth agenda and support delivery of Fraser Coast Futures. As part of this exciting evolution, Council is seeking a senior Investment Attraction Officer to identify, facilitate and progress investment opportunities that will contribute to jobs, economic growth and long-term regional prosperity.

Reporting to the Manager Economic Development, you will work directly with investors, developers, businesses, government agencies and industry representatives to promote the Fraser Coast as an investment destination, facilitate investment enquiries and progress opportunities across priority sectors.

This role offers significant exposure to major development activity currently occurring across the region, including opportunities relating to land development, industrial development, tourism and visitor infrastructure, retail investment, hotel development, community infrastructure and emerging growth sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining an investment pipeline aligned to Council's economic development priorities.
  • Leading and coordinating engagement with investors, developers, businesses and government stakeholders.
  • Identifying, assessing and progressing investment opportunities across priority sectors.
  • Preparing targeted investment attraction materials, presentations, briefings and market intelligence.
  • Analysing market, industry and economic data to identify opportunities and support informed decision-making.
  • Facilitating investment enquiries by connecting proponents with relevant Council teams, agencies and regional partners.
  • Contributing to the implementation of Fraser Coast Futures 2036 and related strategic initiatives.

This role will appeal to an experienced professional who is ready to take ownership of a diverse investment attraction and facilitation portfolio. Candidates may bring experience from property development, economic development, urban planning, infrastructure, commercial analysis, investment facilitation, business development or local government.

You will be analytical, commercially minded and confident engaging with senior stakeholders, with the initiative and judgement to manage competing priorities, navigate complex enquiries and identify practical pathways to progress investment opportunities. Most importantly, you will be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a region undergoing substantial change and growth.

Few roles offer the opportunity to work directly with major investors and developers while enjoying an outstanding coastal lifestyle. Whether you're looking to relocate from Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or a larger metropolitan market, or seeking a role that offers meaningful responsibility, regional impact and direct involvement in investment outcomes, this opportunity deserves your consideration.

Join a growing team helping shape the future of one of Queensland's most exciting regional economies.
