Your opportunity

As our Senior Project Management Officer, you will lead the delivery of major infrastructure and capital works projects that support the future of the Quilpie Shire. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Services, you will provide project management, contract administration and technical expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.

With integrity and pride, you will:

  • Lead major infrastructure projects
  • Drive capital works planning
  • Manage contracts and project performance
  • Support leadership and stakeholder engagement

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure, civil construction, maintenance or capital works projects, including project planning, delivery and reporting
  • Proven experience in contract administration, procurement processes and contract management under Australian Standards
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, risks and grant-funded infrastructure projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and coaching skills

Although it’s not essential, it would be great if you had:

  • Qualification in Engineering, Project Management, construction Management or a related discipline
  • Local Government experience
  • leadership or people management qualification or formal training
