Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator
Are you passionate about creating safe, healthy and compliant workplaces? We are seeking an experienced and proactive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator to lead and support the delivery of our workplace health, safety and wellbeing programs across the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager People & Performance, the OHS Coordinator will provide expert advice and guidance on occupational health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting a positive safety culture throughout Council.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating Council's OHS Management System.
- Providing specialist advice on workplace health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Investigating incidents, hazards and near misses, and implementing corrective actions.
- Developing and delivering OHS training and awareness programs.
- Supporting managers and employees in identifying and managing workplace risks.
- Monitoring safety performance and preparing reports for leadership and relevant committees.
