About the Opportunity
At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this, we are seeking an experienced Construction Works Supervisor to join our Major Projects team and play a key role in delivering the Cowarra Water Supply Scheme—one of the most significant water infrastructure projects ever undertaken by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council. On a typical day this role will:
- Undertake site inspections and surveillance activities to ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, conditions of approval and quality requirements. Working overtime where required to match contractor working hours and critical site activities.
- Monitor contractor progress, workmanship and compliance, supporting the assessment of progress claims and payment certification.
- Monitoring civil, concrete, process, mechanical, electrical and pipeline construction activities across the project.
- Assist with works verification, site set-out reviews and the capture of as-constructed information.
- Ensure workplace health, safety and environmental requirements are being met and respond to incidents, non-conformances and corrective actions as required.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve construction, design and quality issues.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports and project registers to support project governance and delivery outcomes.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction, or an equivalent combination of relevant industry qualifications and significant practical experience.
- Extensive experience supervising major civil construction works (major pipeline installations, large concrete water retaining structures and utility facilities fit-out), including contractor management, quality assurance and conformance inspections.
- Demonstrated experience checking works against approved designs, specifications and industry standards.
- Experience overseeing site set-out, works verification and as-constructed records for infrastructure projects.
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety and environmental requirements within a construction environment.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across project teams.
- Current Class C Driver Licence and General Construction Induction (White Card).
