The Opportunity
The Facilities Maintenance Officer is responsible for undertaking
maintenance and repair (both planned and reactive) of Council owned
facilities and assist with procurement, coordination and delivery of
maintenance and renovations by contractors.
The role is also responsible for providing professional technical advice and
guidance to community groups, contractors, assisting pool lessees and otherstaff to ensure that operational requirements, construction and maintenance
works are completed as per approved plans and schedules and within
approved budgets. Further, where appropriate, you will work within your
professional capabilities to deliver works that enable cost savings for Council.
This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary
as directed by Council. The key ones include:
Undertaking repairs, maintenance, replacements and modifications of
Council buildings and campgrounds in an efficient and cost-effective
manner using skills across a variety of trades, in a range of work
environments, including 'dirty' work;
Assessing requested works and prioritising CRM's logged for service,
recommending and procuring internal and contracted treatment
options, including timely and cost-effective resolution of urgent
maintenance issues;
Identifying and resolving issues with a range of equipment at various
facilities, including heated aquatic centres, lifts and large HVAC
systems.
About Yourself
A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Trade Qualification in
Carpentry, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience in
building and/or building maintenance. It is also highly desirable for the
successful candidate to have:
QLD Construction White Card
Bobcat and/or Elevated Work Platform tickets; and
MR Drivers Licence.

Salary Packaging Available

Leave Loading
You will receive 17.5% leave loading on top of your base rate of pay, while
