Join our People and Culture team and play a key role in the recruitment and selection of candidates that delivers essential services to our community.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as People and Culture Advisor (Recruitment). You will manage the recruitment lifecycle processes across a diverse range of roles ensuring fair and equitable hiring practices aligned with legislation and Southern Downs Regional Council's values. You'll work closely with hiring managers to provide expert advice, and contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment systems and processes.

Term: Permanent Full-time

Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight

Pay Level: $2730.08 to $3175.82 per fortnight (Level 2-3), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading

In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.

Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

About the Department

The People Performance and Safety Department plays an integral role in delivering on the outcomes of Council’s 2021-2026 Corporate Plan and related strategies. The department governs the use of Council’s Human Resources and Safety Management Systems and delivers corporate goals with respect to recruitment and selection, capability and training, employee compensation, employee relations and the Council’s long-term goals of increased retention and improved morale.

The department sits within the Executive Services Directorate and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer with the directive to deliver on the People related objectives of Council whilst providing a high level of customer service to the office of the Mayor, Councillors, Directors, Management, Council staff and the community.

  • Undertake the full recruitment life cycle, including advertising of positions, coordinating the shortlisting of candidates scheduling interviews, coordinating recommendations and appointments of candidates as well as finalising and coordinating onboarding documentation/requirements in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures.
  • Manage accurate recruitment records within Council’s record keeping systems.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks including right to work, criminal history and other compliance requirements.

What You Will Need

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • The legal right to live and work in Australia
  • A Class C (car) licence or greater is required in this role.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of staff from across the organisation.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to excellent recruitment and selection processes.
  • The ability to develop a working knowledge of a diverse range of functions and tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently to achieve outcomes within required timeframes
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised and maintain confidentiality.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • A certificate in an Administration or Human Resources field ​​​​​​
  • To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
