Civil Works Coordinator
Wagga Wagga City Council is seeking an intrinsically motivated individual to lead and work within Civil Infrastructure team to deliver a high level of presentation, maintenance and customer service.
- Remuneration package of $3,747.20 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $4,496.64 gross per fortnight + superannuation.

Your new role:
Committed to enhancing the service delivery and working collaboratively within the team, the successful candidate will supervise and coordinate the work activities of a Civil Maintenance and service team. Key tasks associated with the position will include supervising staff, undertaking maintenance activities to roads, drainage and concreting, kerb and guttering and associated works. Working both independently and as part of the Civil Infrastructure team, you will demonstrate excellent leadership to achieve timely and productive outcomes on a range of projects.
This position will be responsible for:
- Operational management of Council’s Infrastructure including roads, bridges, footpaths and roadside drainage
- Lead, engage, mentor and develop the team, ensuring effective personnel management in order to deliver operational works and achieve the best organisational and community outcomes.
- Plan and coordinate teamwork activities including plant and materials.
- Prepare and implement work programs, and maintenance and inspection schedules in accordance with annual works programs.
- Report on the quality and quantity of work produced from the details provided within the completed work order submitted by supervisors.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and analytical data in relation to work programs, and maintenance and inspection schedules.
- Coordinate and respond to customer service requests in accordance with approved service levels.
- Manage contracts and contractors in accordance with Council’s procurement processes.
- Prepare documentation for the procurement of goods and services used within the Rural Operations Team, following Council’s procurement procedures.
- Undertake administrative duties relevant to the role including but not limited to; Work Health & Safety documentation and reports (i.e. site safety inductions, risk assessments), purchasing requisitions; quotations and orders; timesheet and leave authorisations, staff performance appraisals, maintenance of registers etc.
- Work collaboratively with other teams within the Transport & Traffic Division, the Infrastructure Services Directorate and other Council Directorates as required.
As the successful applicant, you will:
- Experience in leading and working effectively in a team and independently.
- Qualifications relevant to the role e.g. Diploma in Engineering or willing to obtain.
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management / Certificate IV in Frontline Management
- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- SafeWork NSW Traffic Controller Training Card and SafeWork NSW Implement Traffic Control Plans Training Card.
- Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan Training Card or willing to obtain.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
