The role

We are looking for a dedicated and visionary person to join our team. In this key leadership role, you will join with the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and the Executive team to lead the organisation, by shaping its culture, supporting strategic direction and optimising performance. You will oversee the following units:

  • Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities (including Parks and Open Space, Natural Environment, Active Communities, Community Buildings and Property)
  • Engineering (including Asset Management and Engineering)
  • Operations (including Works, Waste and Climate Change)
  • Development Services (including Building Services, Community Safety and Amenity, Public and Environmental Health, Statutory Planning and Strategic Planning)
  • Grants (including obtaining external grant funding)

Providing excellent customer service is also a top priority. You will work with your teams to ensure that every interaction reflects the organisation’s dedication to meeting and exceeding customer expectations including through streamlining processes and removing barriers.

Our ideal candidate

  • Proven experience and success in a senior leadership role
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A track record of fostering positive organizational culture and performance
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in Engineering, Planning or related fields
  • Ability to build and maintain trust and confidence with staff, Councillors, and community partners
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
