Yass Valley Council is seeking a reliable and motivated Skilled Labourer to join our Facilities Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and presentation of community buildings and public facilities that support our local residents every day.

About the Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Facilities Maintenance, you will assist in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of council-owned buildings, amenities, and infrastructure. The role involves a variety of hands-on tasks and requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • General building and facility maintenance
  • Carpentry, painting, plastering, and minor plumbing repairs
  • Maintenance of parks amenities, public buildings, and community facilities
  • Use and maintenance of hand and power tools
  • Assist with inspections, set-ups, and reactive maintenance requests
  • Ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in general maintenance, construction, or facilities operations
  • Practical skills across a range of trades or maintenance activities
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Current Class C Driver Licence (essential)
  • White Card (essential)
