About the Role

Reporting to the Economic Development Coordinator, this role is responsible for supporting and delivering economic and business development initiatives that foster investment, industry growth, and community prosperity.

You will work across strategic projects, business engagement, and marketing initiatives, helping position Swan Hill as a thriving regional destination to live, work, and invest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver economic development projects and action plans
  • Support implementation of Economic Development and Housing Strategies
  • Assist local businesses through advice, research, and referrals
  • Manage and promote Council’s Facade Improvement Grant Program
  • Develop and maintain business, industry, and investment profiles
  • Contribute to marketing materials, website updates, and promotional content
  • Analyse economic data to inform decisions
  • Build strong relationships with businesses, investors, and community groups
  • Represent Council at industry forums, networks, and events
  • · Some after hours and weekend work may be required by mutual agreement
  • Qualifications in Economics, Business, Marketing, PR or similar (or relevant experience)
  • Experience supporting business development programs or projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to analyse and present economic and business data
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of regional economies and local business challenges (desirable)
  • Permanent Full-Time role with genuine work-life balance
  • Approximately $75,839 per annum + 15% superannuation
  • Four weeks annual leave + 17.5 % leave loading
  • 12 days’ personal (sick/carer’s) leave

  • Long service leave (pro-rata after 7 years)
