- Band 6 - Salary range $90,141 - $98,403 per annum

About the position
Corangamite Shire Council is seeking a Climate Change and Emissions Reduction Officer to lead the implementation of key sustainability projects, with a strong focus on climate change, environmental sustainability, alternative waste treatments and circular economy practices.
In this position, you will play an important role in delivering Council’s Environment and Sustainability Strategy and Climate Change Action Plan, while providing leadership and driving initiatives that directly reduce emissions.
About you
- Formal qualifications in climate change, sustainability, or environmental management, or a less formal qualification together with extensive and diverse experience.
- Knowledge and experience in climate change, and environmental sustainability, circular economy and developing strategies and plans related to these fields, with local government experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects individually and in a team environment to achieve goals and objectives within set timeframes and budget, with demonstrated leadership capability highly regarded.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to gain the co-operation and assistance of key stakeholders both within and external to the organisation to achieve the objectives of the position.
- A demonstrated commitment to our values of trust, teamwork, and respect.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence, Working with Children Check and recent National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
