Senior Integrity Governance Officer

About the opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Governance professional to join the team in the position of Senior Integrity Governance Officer. Reporting to the Manager Governance, Integrity and Ethics you will lead a small team to coordinate Council’s integrity and ethical framework across Council with the focus of ensuring better practice, complaints management and legislative compliance.

To succeed in this position, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in complaints management, investigations, public interest disclosures or integrity-related roles within a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to triage, assess risk, allocate and monitor complaints and investigations to ensure timely, procedurally fair and effective resolution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of relevant NSW legislation including the Local Government Act 1993, Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022 and Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, review and develop policies and procedures, and prepare high-quality reports and briefing materials.
  • Experience identifying systemic issues, trends and control weaknesses arising from complaints or disclosures, and implementing governance or process improvements.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing competing priorities while having a high level of discretion, integrity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
