Richmond Valley Council is committed to supporting aspiring youth and school leavers (15-25) in its local government area to have access to interesting and diverse careers within Council.
Each year Council offers a proportion of its workforce opportunities to local youth who are interested in participating in our Youth Employment Strategy (YES Program) to work within the organisation in the capacity of a Trainee, Apprentice, Cadet or Scholar.
These positions are great opportunities to gain valuable experience, skill development and career insights. They can help set you up for a long and rewarding career with Council and provide you with transportable industry skills and experience.

About the role
An Apprentice Waste and Resource Recovery Officer is full time employment for three (3) years, and the proposed study will be a Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations).
Fixed term: 76-hour fortnight (Term Contract - 3 years)
Salary: Based on the Local Government Award + 12% super

NOTE: As the activities of this position could involve exposure to Hepatitis A and B and Q
Fever, the employee will be vaccinated against these hazards or required to provide proof
of immunity against these diseases.
