ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a proactive Health, Safety and Wellbeing Partner who is passionate
about supporting a safe, healthy and well workforce through practical advice,
inclusive programs and effective systems and processes.
Reporting to the Coordinator Health, Safety and Wellbeing, the Health, Safety and
Wellbeing Partner works across Council to support the development,
implementation and monitoring of OHS obligations, systems, policies and
procedures. The role partners with leaders, employees and key stakeholders to
provide practical advice, influence positive safety behaviours and support continuous
improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement
of OHS management systems, policies and procedures.
• Monitoring OHS performance and supporting effective reporting across the
organisation.
• Supporting incident, hazard and injury management, including investigations,
corrective actions and trend analysis.
• Contributing to health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, programs, training
and consultation processes.
• Supporting Return to Work and WorkCover claims management to achieve
safe and sustainable outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of occupational
health and safety legislation, systems and contemporary safety practice, ideally
gained in a complex or diverse organisation. You will bring strong communication
and relationship-building skills, a practical approach to problem solving, and the
ability to influence, engage and support stakeholders at all levels. You be willing to
work across multiple sites in the Shire.
