The island is now more than ever on the world stage, not only for its iconic rural produce but now the recreational opportunities offered. The Economic Development Officer is pivotal to the future success of promoting King Island and all it offers to visitors, tourists, golfers, gastronomes and others wanting a unique island experience. We are seeking someone who wants to be part of this success, helping to drive economic development on the Island leading to jobs and an improved lifestyle for residents.

We expect you will have sound commercial skills and business acumen, an ability to network and negotiate with diverse groups and individuals and to attract investment to the Island. Your hands-on approach, problem-solving, analytical research and reporting capabilities, together with your ability to promote economic development across the Island is essential.

Excellent opportunities for professional development are available, and a salary and superannuation package of between $64,990–$70,819 applies, with remote area tax benefits applicable.
