Council is now seeking a General Manager and invites highly experienced, innovative and motivated senior executives to apply for this position.

Carrathool Shire Council is financially sound and strongly committed to delivering quality infrastructure and a comprehensive range of community services. It enjoys strong relationships with Commonwealth and State Governments and agencies, regional and neighbouring Councils, stakeholder organisations and the media.

Reporting to the Mayor and directly accountable to Council, the new General Manager will be required to inspirationally lead a talented executive team and multifunctional workforce of 92 employees. To be successful in this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in business, management or other relevant field. You will provide strong and effective leadership across the organisation, encouraging and empowering your staff to deliver high quality outputs and outcomes for the community. You will have highly developed verbal and written communication skills which you will effectively utilise to engage with the Council, community, staff and a diverse range of stakeholders and interest groups. The Council puts a high value on prudent financial management, transparency and corporate governance.

Council will offer the position on the basis of a contract of employment of 3–5 years (negotiable), with a total remuneration package inclusive of salary, superannuation, motor vehicle up to $210,000 pa. A near new executive residence is also offered at a subsidised rent.
